In this weeks video I break down our plan we got from Jeff Sturgis, owner of Whitetail Habitat Solutions. We discuss major points from the plan, why we want to keep a consistent deer movement, and then at the end I will discuss the order of what we are going to be working on. I think that is the confusing part when first receiving your land from a consultant, is where to actually start. I know it’s not the same for everyone, but you will have similar order of business once you receive your plan!
-Bedding Pockets
-Frost Seed Switchgrass
-Plant silky willow and hybrid willow lines around food plots and bedding areas
-Plant Hybrid Poplar, Hybrid Willow, and Dappled Willow into those bedding pockets
-Plant food plots
-Install watering holes and licking branches
-Hang treestands and create shooting lanes
If you guys have any other questions about the plan, or about the cuttings we will be installing, feel free to email us or give us a call!

See you guys next week!
How was your 2022 season?
What do you plan on doing to the greens food plots between April-August? Just kill with gly and leave as dirt? Or will you add some sort of cover crop and till again?
Sounds like a great plan!
Also whats the value in buying a 6ft cutting vs the 12in. Is the maturity rate that much higher
How well do your cuttings or taller saplings do transporting outside if WI? I would love to order some willows but i live in NH
Next time, let us just see the layout, you switch to the actual land, and talking about what the symbols mean. Thank you for the content
Impressive jeff
I have had your website on my radar and I really like the quantities listed 👍 I would love some (110) silky willow to screen off the neighbors from my food plots (with some Canadian switch grass-!)
What kind of habitat designing app is that?
Loved the follow up of Jeff's design just had him out last week can't wait to get some of your cuttings in the ground this spring
Accidentally clicked dislike! I thought this was a great breakdown and well explained!
Cool to see a follow up of Jeff's art/skill
It looks like a great plan just so you know the pictures from your trail cams are just dark blurs on my phone anyways congratulations and good luck
Great video!! It’s amazing how much Jeff Knows!!! It’s so fun to be able to do a design with him!! Good luck with it, you do the work and it will be great!!!
Very helpful vid. How many acres?
Great video. I would drill the switch if you have access to a drill. You will have much better success than frost seeding.
what trail cameras do you use?
Nice breakdown!
