After owning our trailer for two years we are finally able to undertake an RV upgrade we’ve wanted to do since day 1 – replace the factory mini blinds with Slow-Rise day/night roller shades. We dislike just about everything about mini blinds. They are clunky, unattractive, the cats like to bash them and make tons of noise at night, and worst of all they don’t even block light very well.
Slow-Rise day/night roller shades solve all these issues. They operate smoothly, look great, wont be bothered by our pets, and make it nearly pitch black in our RV! We got our roller shades from Irvine Shade since they manufacture the same roller shades that go in the Keystone Montanas – which we love. We were surprised with how easy this install was – by far the easiest RV upgrade we’ve done!

  1. I wonder if those 90 degree wall mounts will fit the black out shades in my Keystone Outback. I would love to keep them and put a small rod with curtains up. I agree the valances are not “home” lol

  2. Nice video. I appreciate the time you took to explain the shades and the reason you selected these particular ones.
I do not like seeing the roller sticking out under the valance. Is that shade position able to be adjusted so it doesn't hang lower than the valance?

  3. thank you for taking time to show a close up of how the bracket release worked…i looked at many other videos by the roller blind companies and none were clear enough…you really helped me a lot…thanks bunches!

  4. Be careful. I bought some online and what a disappointment. To open them they needed to be released from bottom bracket which made them flop around and the bracket was cheap plastic. Not these…different brand.

  5. It turns out you cannot order shades directly from Irvine Shade and Door, rather you have to go through a Distributor. The Distributor's web sites are not very good. It's extremely difficult to actually find their products. The Distributor recommended to me by Irvine Shades (High Definition RV) has a web site that appears hacked. It has no product information and lots of boxes where information should go that are filled with Latin or some strange language I don't recommend. Certainly doesn't make it easy to buy this product.

  6. I Just upgraded my mini blinds to these and they are fantastic! Due to my dated interior I did need to build new curtain/valance boxes. Thanks so much for the suggestion! I love mine!

  7. Good instructional videos. Thx for that. Love the cats. I'm wondering, have they continued to try to see out? If so I know cats can be pretty destructive with their persistence.

  8. Nice blinds. Our Thor Class C has the Slow Rise but not with the Day Rise. They only put 2 brackets for a longer area and one shade already fell out. Time to purchase extra brackets. Great video.

  9. I threw ours away as soon as we moved in. I hate those blinds. I ordered insulated curtains instead. It keeps us cool in the summer and warm in the winter. I was thinking of getting roller blinds but I really like light.
