That’s not Tanjiro’s dad. It’s Yoriichi who was the strongest demon slayer and great friends with Tanjiro’s Ancestor. Yoriichi gave the earrings to Sumiyoshi and they were passed down in the kamado family for generations until we meet Tanjiro.

I'm like, 80% sure that both Inosuke and Tengen whipping out the "I'm immune to poison" card was bluffing in both cases, since Gyutaro's poison is part of his Blood Demon Art and thus completely unnatural. Also, I love Tengen's face right before that last charge! You can tell he's high out of his mind on an adrenaline rush!

Honestly, Rengoku's character has similarities to Maes Hughes. In world, they were so pure and had no reasons to die. But from a story perspective, their death will drive the other characters forward
